A few quiet moments in the morning light can become a simple ritual that helps calm the mind and gently tune into the new day. Sun meditation combines conscious breathing, attention and awareness of the subtle energy of the morning sun.
Sun yoga is not about complicated poses or demanding exercise. Its essence lies in calming the mind and consciously observing the breath and the body. While some forms of yoga focus primarily on movement and flexibility, this meditative practice directs attention more deeply inward. It teaches us to slow down for a moment and be fully present.

This approach is based on the practice of the same name developed by French teacher Michel Doffe. After years of practising different yoga traditions, he began to focus more deeply on meditative work with the mind. He emphasised simplicity of movement, conscious breathing and, above all, alert presence – the ability to be fully aware of what we are experiencing in the present moment. According to his approach, this kind of attention can help people find greater calm and balance amid the fast pace of everyday life.
You can also try sun meditation on your own. All you need is a few minutes outside – on the grass or simply on a hotel terrace. Notice the warmth of the sunlight on your face and body and gradually allow tension to release. Even a short moment of silence and awareness of the sun’s rays can bring a sense of lightness and balance into the day.
